On November 26th, Jonah Group participated in the "Blockchain 2.0 Mandates: How to employ blockchain technology within your business or your industry" seminar, organized by the international law firm Gowling WLG's Blockchain & Smart Contracts Group.
The event was hosted by Usman Sheikh, partner at the firm and guest speaker at our Blockchain Breakfast in October. Amongst the speakers of the event were Managing Director of Blockchain Research Institute, Financial Services and Head of Blockchain at KPMG, Senior Counsel at RBC, and National Banking & Capital Markets Assurance Leader at PwC.
Jeremy Chan, one of the Jonah Group founders, was a panelist in the “Identifying Use Cases” discussion panel, focused on the decision-making process and practical issues around implementing enterprise blockchain solutions. He was joined by Marc Lijour, Solutions Delivery at ConsenSys and Karim Hamasni, Development Lead, Crypto Asset Innovation at RBC Global Asset Management.
The seminar shared in detail what business leaders should know about the technology and key developments in the market. These experts took a deep dive into lessons learned from operationalizing enterprise blockchain applications. The panel also provided the audience with a multi-faceted insight into the legal and accounting issues around blockchain technology, and pondered on the potential disruptions to the market in the months and years to come.
