The Jonah Group develops first Web 2.0 site for the Government of Ontario.
January 15, 2009 - The Jonah Group has developed the first Web 2.0 site for the Government of Ontario. The “Digital Ontario” website solution provided by Jonah Interactive allows the Ministry of Government services to connect with users and explore the challenges and opportunities for Ontario in a digital era.
The website features full multimedia and social networking capabilities, including user contributed content, an open wiki, video archiving, ratings feedback, quick surveys, comments, content translation and more.
By utilizing these features, the site serves as a repository for research and information relating to broadband, digital skills and e-literacy, ICT best practices in Ontario and other jurisdictions. The site also engages the potential of Web 2.0 for policy research and collaboration.
Jonah Group partnered with the Ministry of Government Services to select an open source content management system that was comprehensive and flexible to support the Ministry’s short and long term requirements. Jonah Group also provided full graphic design, information architecture and application development services.
The Ministry of Government Services is responsible for the delivery and management of government operations. Its goal is to provide cost-effective services to all residents and businesses and to the Ontario Public Service.
The Jonah Group continues to be engaged with MGS on a number of strategic initiatives.
