Where Did We Come From?
We are the same team of professionals since our first incarnation over 12 years ago. Below is a brief history.
Mountain Lake Software - Formed 1994
Mountain lake was created as a distributed objects company. As lead engineers and core members of the management team, we realized the benefits of deploying applications over the internet. We concentrated our efforts on the most complex of the web driven businesses - the financial sector - where the secure and efficient flow of information is paramount.
Key clients included Standard & Poors where we developed a thin client risk management system. For CIBC, we developed and managed several mission-critical systems such as the CIBC.COM website and the technical development of the Imperial Services investment planning site.
Purchased by Bowne - May 1998
Bowne, a financial printing company, acquired 5 companies in the software and web development sector to create a new company, Bowne Internet Solutions. Mountain Lake was a key purchase because of its highly skilled software development and integration engineers, financial industry expertise, and a rare level of team synergy and professionalism.
The new company developed global internet sites and software for Fortune 500 companies, specializing in internationalization and localization. Bowne changed the name to Immersant in response to the burgeoning competition in the Independent Service Vendor market.
As senior managers and architects, we led the most complex technical projects and gained additional experience with large scale (20+) end-to-end development teams, new internet technologies, and the emerging wireless market. Our Key clients during this period were Waterloo Maple, Summit Bank, Deutsche Bank, XL Capital, and Marshall & Isley. We also gained valuable industry experience developing systems for brokerage houses, insurance companies, media companies and more.
Immersant Changes Focus - May 2001
In May 2001, Bowne (now Immersant) decided to refocus on their core localization business and closed all application development offices.
The Jonah Group is Created - June 2001
A group of senior engineers, project managers, and business analysts knew that the synergy of our talents was very rare and that only the thing to do was to focus on our core systems integration business, and to pick a new name!
Enter The Jonah Group.
With the incorporation of The Jonah Group, we offer a new model: software development with an internet focus, most efficiently enabled by our full service offering.
